Hussain Muhammad Ershad, chairman of the Jatiaya Party, said that his party would not take part in the up-coming national parliamentary polls under the present Election Commission because he feels that the commission has already lost all its credibility.
HM Ershad, who is the key leader of the ruling coalition, also said in a post-Eid reunion in the capital, made statements against the ruling party. The comments however are not surprising as he has made such comments in past as well.
He moreover added that the election commission intentionally gave up its power. He mentioned that that the Jatiya Party cannot trust such a commission.

He wanted a commission that has the guts to un-follow the instruction of the government but the current election commission is biased and is already became controversial. On the same very speech, Ershad criticized the Prime Minister and leader of the Awami League Sheikh Hasina over her comments that she would not move an inch from holding the election according to the constitution under an elected government.
